2007 NISSAN 350Z TRACK (2)

It might be a product of the old school rather than a finishing school but the 350Z helped revitalise Nissan.

The 350Z is a good example of how dipping into established sportscar heritage can pay dividends. The forthright design played part in helping Nissan drive out of financial doldrums and into a post-Millenium purple patch.
NZ cars that received the 2007 facelift were highly specified. Projector headlights combine with the pronounced power dome for a more imposing look up front. As this is the Track version, it has bigger-diameter discs than the Touring models, and they’re thicker too. The 18-inch Rays alloys were standard along with brashly painted Brembo calipers. Brake Assist and EBD were standard electronic inclusions back in the day.
Superb leather seats and a leather steering wheel dominate an interior that benefited from better materials and some quality detailing. The potent 240w Bose system holds its own against some contemporary sound systems and the big subwoofer mounted behind the driver’s seat is a force to be reckoned with. The large bracing bar across the middle of the load space ends up being a bit of a design feature as it carries Z-inscripted ornamentation that is visible through the large rear screen.
The result is a car that rivals the later 370Z for road presence but offers more high-grade materials and design touches to delight the enthusiast.
